Why is it important?

In contrast to other studies, our study reveals that the majority of the students perceived the educational environment better and had better Quality of Life. This indicates that there may be some regional differences which need to be explored in future studies. Our study showcases that individual differences exist in the personality traits of the students, that affect academic performance and add to academic stress. A challenging educational environment leads towards better academic performance but increases academic stress. Our study also indicates that psychological assessment, support and counselling should be made a part of the routine activities of students at college.

Perspectives

Our co-authors are mostly medical students who practically observed and identified the research problem before they delved deep into the literature to formulate the research question. Supervising and collaborating with researchers who were so inquisitive about the research problem was a great pleasure.
