What is it about?

This study investigates the influence of climate change on the wave climate associated with tropical cyclones in the Gulf of Mexico. Synthetic events are used to overcome the limitations of historical records and provide projections of present and future wave activity. The findings indicate an increase in wave activity in the western Caribbean Sea and the northern Gulf of Mexico, while some areas may experience a decrease in wave energy.
