What is it about?

We found that some of children's genes influenced both their knowledge of words and the complexity of the language they produced. We also found that different aspects of children's environment influenced their word knowledge versus their language complexity.

Why is it important?

Our findings help better understand how different sources of influence act on different components of language. This could be helpful for intervention, as language impairment can involve difficulties in different areas of language.

Perspectives

This is the second article of my Ph.D. thesis, which initiated me to the complex world of twin studies and genetic analyses.
