What is it about?

Diblock copolymer chains undergo microphase separation to create structures in nano length scales. With development of nanotechnology, one can manufacture nano devices. What is the difference from the bulk if a microphase separation is confined to occur within a nano device? We studied this problem and propose a simple model illustrating the commensurability effect in this confined set up clearly.

Why is it important?

We propose a general theoretical treatment for the commensurability between emerging structures and boundary conditions.
