What is it about?

The paper investigates the morphodynamic reaction of a schematic river to different perturbations of the sediment input imposed at its upstream end. The evolution of the initially equilibrium river can be studied by means of 0D and 1D models, depending on the equations applied for describing the water and sediment motion.

Why is it important?

Analytical solutions of simplified 0D and 1D models could improved the understanding of physical processes that govern sediment transport in rivers.
