Why is it important?
It is an important step towards water-energy nexus combined operations for present and future climate extremities. With adverse conditions related to water or power availability due to changing climate, operations of water distribution systems to meet consumer demands is becoming difficult day by day. The new methodology would help utility operators to make real-time operation decisions as well as future contingency analyses.
Perspectives
This research gave the authors an insight into the water-energy nexus inter dependencies and what they mean for our future.
