What is it about?

This study develops and validates a tool called the Arabic Children’s Strong Communication Scale (ACSCS), designed to measure communication skills in Arabic-speaking children. The tool was adapted from an existing communication checklist and tailored for the Arabic language and culture. It focuses on key areas like language proficiency, social interaction, and behavior. The study tested the tool with a diverse group of children to ensure its accuracy and reliability.

Why is it important?

This tool provides educators, speech therapists, and researchers with a culturally appropriate way to assess communication strengths in Arabic-speaking children. It can help identify communication difficulties early, allowing for targeted interventions to support children’s language development and social skills, ultimately improving their academic and social success.

Perspectives

The ACSCS can become a critical resource in both clinical and educational settings, enhancing our understanding of communication development in children from Arabic-speaking communities. Its validation also sets the foundation for future research on communication skills across different languages and cultures.
