What is it about?

It is an editorial on a special issue on Bone Healing with three very comprehensive review articles on recent preclinical and clinical findings to support the healing of critical bone defects by adjuvant therapy approaches. These include biomaterial-based approaches, modulators of angiogenesis, modulators of inflammatory processes and, in addition, other current approaches using osteoconductive and osteoinductive compounds.
