What is it about?

We study a deep learning (DL) model for COVID-19 affected patient's X-ray images. Our method was optimized for detecting COVID-19 versus pneumonia with normal healthy lung controls. Our experimental results indicated that the potential usage of our new DL driven model for classification and differentiation of COVID-19 versus pneumonia affected patients.

Why is it important?

The primary goal of this work is to identify and differentiate between COVID versus pneumonia affected lungs from CT imaging data. This is important since accurate differentiation can lead to better treatment regimes.
