Why is it important?

The link between dry eye and depression increase the morbidity and burden of an eye condition to a systemic psychological condition. Health care planners and hospital administrators should be aware of that.

Perspectives

If patients with dry eye can learn to adapt to the intermittent blurring, they may suffer from less anxiety and depression. Holistic management of patients with dry eye is necessary.
