What is it about?
Through analysing the available data on mobile app marketplaces (i.e. Google Play Store) we provide several factors which can lead to a higher number of downloads and higher user scores. Most of these factors can be controlled and changed by the app developers and sponsors so the findings may be used to improve the existing apps as well as can be used to develop further apps.

Why is it important?
Most of the factors that are influential in download numbers and user scores can be used by the app developers and sponsors to improve the existing apps as well as can be used to develop further apps. This very well can lead to higher adoption of mobile health apps. Subsequently, it is possible to promote healthy living and wellness via mobile health apps and improve public health in the long run.
