What is it about?
We show that tracking the temperature and relative humidity in the vicinity of onions is a promising tool for monitoring quality and storability of onions, non-destructively and online, during storage.

Why is it important?
It is labor-intensive and strenuous to monitor onions quality in large storage facilities because bulbs are difficult to access and sample for quality assessment. The findings from this study provide an innovative way of continuous assessing onion quality in storage and determining which batches first to sort to reduce losses in storage.
Perspectives
The work was carried out in collaboration with onion industry and people from different institutes. Writing this article was a great pleasure and I can tell that you will find a very sweet story.
