What is it about?
We investigated the effects of different spatial audio systems on the preference and emotions of listeners. Also, we developed models predicting individual listener preference, showing the non-linear relationship of cognitive, perceptual and emotional factors.

Why is it important?
This study is the first to consider the emerging emotions of listeners during a listening procedure with different spatial systems. In addition, this work provides deeper understanding on the underlying factors affecting listener experience, providing a novel framework for further investigating signal related processing with the aim of enhancing individual preference.
Perspectives
I hope this article serves as a starting point for a multidisciplinary approach to audio signal and system engineering, which could further enhance the listener's experience.
