What is it about?
Organic farming that includes animals is the only public support that benefits farmland birds in Finland on a large scale. Grazing, high cover of grassland and avoidance of chemical inputs are most likely reasons. Grasslands that are not used as fields and are in a more natural state are also important

Why is it important?
The first country-wide study of this kind, provides evidence on what public support is beneficial for birds
Perspectives
We need to understand why organically grown animals are so important and how to make non-organic farms better. Considering high environmental cost of meat and mil products, we need to use the best ways of producing them. These ways should ideally have some other benefits than food
