What is it about?

Scientists have collected and digitized a large amount of information about different species of animals and plants, but it can be challenging to use this information for research. In this study, we tested a computer program that can accurately label and locate important points on images of animal specimens, such as bird feathers or shell shapes. We used this program to identify specific colors on bird feathers and to measure the shapes of snail shells. The program was highly accurate and allowed the researchers to quickly analyze large amounts of data.

Perspectives

Writing this article has been a great pleasure for me. I had the opportunity to collaborate with co-authors whom I have been working with for a long time. This article is also a part of my PhD thesis, and I am delighted to see it has been published. I hope that our computational methods and model can be utilized to measure many natural history specimens, advancing research in this field.
