What is it about?
Digital care planning has many advantages over traditional paper based care planning, which suggests social care providers should be using it. For examples, digital care plans are legible, cannot be lost or spoiled, are accessible away form work and the manager / nominated individual can access and check them whenever they want.

Why is it important?
The DH&SC is aiming to get 80% or more social care providers to use digital platforms by 2024, so social care providers need to understand the digital provision on offer.
Perspectives
All social care providers not using digital care planning, audits, policies etc. should consider doing so. They save staff time and make the service more efficient and effective and improve compliance.
