Perspectives
In mental health nursing positivity plays a dynamic and vigorous role in person centred care . Mental health nurses are vital to this as they are the professionals who spend the most time with the patients. So, their contribution in understanding aspects of positive psychology are crucial to being able to help role model and encourage these traits in their patients.Seligman has made available a succinct and useful model to enable mental health nurses to develop well-being within their profession and in clinical practice. This is especially relevant in these current times during the Covid-19 pandemic and the rise of mental health issues that are presenting to the psychiatric and psychology-based services.
