Why is it important?

Stillbirth are not included in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and this was so during the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). It is in this regard that the silence should be broken and as health facilities, we should understand the contributing factors of these deaths. With the use of clinical audit which is a quality improvement tool, quality care is strengthened in order to reduce mortality.

Perspectives

The criteria audit was important in order to bring out the main causes of intrapartum stillbirth which was obstructed labour. This will inform midwives on the recognition and management of obstructed labour with the use of a part graph in all women in active phase of labour. Timely informed decisions will be made and reduce the stillbirth. It's important also to conduct the clinical audit in the district and understand the main causes of intrapartum stillbirth in a broader perspective.
