Why is it important?

Dermatology nursing is an increasing speciality. Patients are presenting with more complex dermatology needs now and will be in future. This article informs policy makers and managers to consider the educational provisions required to meet these needs to enable dermatology nurses to provide safe and effective patient care.

Perspectives

Dermatology nursing is a small and often forgotten speciality that covers a range of conditions, not just skin cancer. There are limited educational opportunities for this group of nurses.
