What is it about?

Extrusion dies that can be more sensitively adjusted give rise to a further improvemnt of the quality of extruded products.

Why is it important?

The distribution of the local mass flow which is discharged out of the die is mainly responsable for the thickness distribution in the final product that is extuded. By sensitively adjusting that distribution the difference between the wanted wall thickness and the achieved thickness can be reduced. By this the quality of the part can be improved and the consumption of material reduced at the same time.

Perspectives

Sensitively adjustable extrusion dies are the precondition to establish a closed-loop controlled production process.
