What is it about?

Hundreds of thousands young men served as conscripted soldiers in the Chilean Armed Forces during the Pinochet dictatorship (1973-1990). From the mid 2000s, tens of thousands of ex-conscripts formed a loose movement, seeking benefits and recognition as victims of the military regime. This article examines the memory narratives of movement and their interaction with, and exclusion from, the post-transition memoryscape in Chile.
