What is it about?

We read based upon what we previous know. This is called intertextuality. Besides examining the experience of waiting a diagnosis, it also discusses the the experience of writing a poem about a diagnosis.

Why is it important?

Do doctors understand what a the experience of waiting can be from a patient's perspective? Should they? The poem with a slideshow makes one person's experience explicit.

Perspectives

I find that writing poems about experiences, deepens them. The creativity is freeing and gives joy to potentially unpleasant experiences.
