What is it about?

gasoline controlled auto ignition is difficult to control. The residuals of a predecessor cycle imfluence to next one; this can lead to cyclic coupling and unstable sequences. We use a fast field-programmable-gate-array to actively decouple the process and stabilize the combustion.

Why is it important?

HCCI/CAI offer a high efficeincy and low emissions but are very hard to control. This work shows a potential how to stabilze the combustion and bring this priciple closer to production.
