Why is it important?
This paper shows that the speech profile of children with Specific Language Impairment (SLI) changes with development, but speech difficulties are still evident at 4 years of age. At 4 years of age children with SLI show difficulties in those more difficult sounds, meanwhile, at 3 years of age, they had shown difficulties mainly in earlier sounds.
