What is it about?

This is a study to determine how common high blood pressure is in adolescents. We chose Grade XII learners who are otherwise well. We also determined if there was kidney involvement, over weight and if there were other risk factors leading to the development of high blood pressure in these learners.

This is a unique well designed study that was done as part of World Kidney Day in 2016. It is to date the only report from our region on high blood pressure prevalence in learners.
