What is it about?

The specific aims of the study are to discover which factors experts think are the most important determinants of their enjoyment of generated performances, to analyze possible different preferences and expectations of the listeners, and the impact of cognitive style, i.e. the way an individual prefers to organize and process information

Why is it important?

Music cognitive style is not related to ranking of preference, but it may be related to consistency of response, and to the means by which communication about music is articulated.

Perspectives

Whether these differences in response styles are constructed or learnt will be an area for further research, as will the need to expand and replicate these findings in an effort to better understand individual differences in music perception and response.
