What is it about?

Our understanding of teratomagenesis is critically important for a medical field. We revealed that germinal center‐associated nuclear protein (GANP) is overexpressed in human testicular postpubertal‐type teratomas and established a novel GANP‐transgenic mouse to reveal teratomagenesis.

Why is it important?

Although mouse models bearing teratoma have been established in the specific strains, we reported the novel model using C57BL/6 mice. Compared to 129/sv strain, our mice develop teratomas at a higher rate.

Perspectives

I hope that this article gives many researchers the critical information about teratomagenesis.
