What is it about?

A survey was conducted to examine the co-relationship between store attributes, satisfaction, patronage intention and lifestyle in F&G retailing. The data was analyzed using multiple regression. Although 'satisfaction' is found to be a mediator in the relationship between store attributes and patronage intention,'lifestyle' did not act as a moderator in the relationships between store attributes, satisfaction and patronage intention.

Why is it important?

This study is different from prior studies on food & grocery retailing because of the usage of an experimentation framework (causal design) to establish the relationships between store attributes, satisfaction, patronage intention and lifestyle.

Perspectives

I hope people who read this article about F&G shopping, considered to be one of those unavoidable chores, will be interested to learn that 'Lifestyle' does not influence one's F&G shopping behavior. Despite competition from online grocers, this study suggests consumers still take time out to visit and purchase food and groceries from stores. I hope this will encourage consumers to become conscious shoppers and purchase healthy food items from stores.
