What is it about?

In the face of increasingly frequent and severe natural disasters worldwide, effective communication is critical for school leaders who must ensure the safety of students and staff and lead critical engagement with their communities.A typology of crisis communication is proposed, offering provisional guidance on how leaders can balance urgent response strategies with transparent, empathetic, and trust-building interactions. By highlighting practices and providing a reflective self-assessment tool for leaders to prepare for responsive action, the study underscores the importance of preparation in maintaining community resilience and continuity of learning.
