What is it about?
Response to Intervention (RTI) is a tiered approach that identifies struggling learners early and gives them increasingly intensive support. This study interviewed eight female teachers of students with learning difficulties in Saudi Arabia about the barriers they face in applying the RTI model.

Why is it important?
Teachers identified time pressures, unsuitable classroom environments, limited collaboration, administrative obstacles, insufficient data and a lack of training and awareness, as well as the absence of university approval. They suggested professional development, better collaboration, better use of resources and a comprehensive RTI guide, offering practical steps for schools and policymakers seeking earlier support for students with learning difficulties.
Perspectives
Response to Intervention can help struggling learners get support early, before they fall behind. I hope this study helps schools and education authorities in Saudi Arabia remove the practical barriers that teachers face in using it.
