What is it about?

Assistive listening devices have been widely used by people who experience hearing loss. They are also an alternative to hearing aids for amplifying environmental sounds. Assitive listening devicess fitted with local microphones on the receiver side can assist listeners who have mild to moderate hearing loss by using an adaptive dynamic range optimization (ADRO) amplification scheme to help them hear in quiet and noisy environments.

Perspectives

This research identified that people who experience mild to moderate hearing loss may have opportunity to use assistive listening device with anadaptive dynamic range optimization amplification scheme to improve their audibilty and speech intelligibility even in noisy environment and telephone use.
