Why is it important?

This is important for anyone with an interest in job quality including the concept of Fair Work. It highlights that the quality of employment in local government is under a lot of pressure due to austerity cuts. Councils are having to prioritise public service delivery and so less is being spent on aspects of job quality such as training budgets. This is important as the decline in job quality places greater pressure on public servants and may mean that the Scottish Government do not meet their aspiration for Fair Work across Scotland.
