What is it about?

Interleukin 17 is an important cytokine that mediates the IL17 pathway of T helper differentiation in ocular surface disease. We examine how this cytokine is related in the ocular surface cells.

Targeting IL17F may be important to treat inflammation in ocular surface disease like dry eye and ocular allergies.

Perspectives

There is currently no commercially available preparations for targeting the IL17 pathway in ocular surface disease.
