This article describes how the internet, in its early days, began changing access to information online about death, dying, and grief. It describes types of sites available for information, emotional, and tangible support as well as virtual cemeteries and opportunities for memorialization.

To my knowledge, it was the first published article about online resources related to death and grief. Coins the term "thanatechnology" - how online resources (and now can be applied to social media) are being used in death education and grief counseling.
