What is it about?
This article looks at how teachers can use research to improve their work. It introduces a framework with five parts: (1) understanding basic research ideas, (2) using professional knowledge, (3) connecting theory to classroom teaching, (4) doing small-scale research in the classroom, and (5) sharing what they learn with others. The article also explains how this framework was developed and tested, and how it can support teacher learning and development.

Why is it important?
This article is important because it maps a framework on how language teachers can use research to improve their practice, strengthen their professionalism, and share knowledge with others.
Perspectives
I was involved in the writing of this article at a later stage, adding ideas on its methodological aspects and enriching its theoretical background with a psychological perspective. I think this is a good example of how several people can bring their own perspective to a work and make this flourish!
