What is it about?

This article discusses about production and modification of natural bamboo fiber, not the currently available viscose from bamboo. Most of the possible techniques were applied to see what might be suitable for bamboo fiber production. Different techniques and routes are also assessed in the article. Some digital photographs are provided with flowcharts of some effective process-sequences.

Why is it important?

This article is important as it focused on currently demanding eco-friendly processes which also helps to retain different unique properties of bamboo, such as antibacterial, anti-UV, thermal management properties etc. Moreover, including the fastest growing bamboo plant in textile production will work as a new source of natural fibers.

Perspectives

This article is very useful for the researchers who are trying to find new sources for natural fiber production not only from bamboo but also from different other plants.
