What is it about?
Community health workers and their clients face a variety of structural challenges (such as lack of transportation, accessing resources, and issues in the medical professional field). Identifying these challenges and then addressing each one will facilitate the ability for these workers to be successful and for their clients to achieve enhanced wellbeing.

Why is it important?
These challenges prevent community health workers from acheiving success in terms of health promotion. Additionally, these challenges impact client motivation negatively, thus straining the ability for community health workers to effectively promote empowerment of clients. Revealing these challenges and their impacts on these workers and clients is vital to addressing them, thereby facilitating the success of these workers.
Perspectives
This article was written in collaboration with the community health worker participants. My goal is to accurately share their challenges and how it affects them, their clients, and their relationship with clients in order to expose these issues. My aim is that the findings can be used in conjunction with policy development to address structural barriers to care in order to better facilitate the success of these workers and aid the communities they serve.
