Why is it important?
Theory application and reporting are needed to systematically identify which theories work, for whom, how, why, and when. Without this knowledge, our understanding of how best to apply theory to enhance intervention outcomes remains limited.
Perspectives
Theory is a critical aspect of unpacking complex interventions and identifying the underlying mechanisms of action driving (or not) observed outcomes.
