What is it about?

After validating PACTE's translation competence model, the group focused on the next stage of their research: the acquisition of translation competence. In this chapter, the group defines the concept of translation competence acquisition and propose a model. Since this model will be tested in an experimental study, the hypotheses, the variables, the research method, the universe and sample, and the tasks and instruments are explained. Finally, the next step of PACTE's research is presented: establishing competence levels and assessment procedures in translation.
