What is it about?

High speed nanopositioning applications require high speed nanopositioners as well as the electronic amplifiers to drive them. High-speed and high resonance piezos are often used in these applications. However, such piezos generally have high electrical capacitance. This high capacitance often leads to low bandwidths in combination with traditional high-voltage amplifiers. In this paper, we present a high-voltage amplifier structure that circumvents this problem.

Why is it important?

High-speed nanopositioning has become essential in many technological fields. Improvements in the electronics driving these nanopositioners directly affect the performance of theses systems.

Perspectives

We provide all the technical information required to build the amplifier. We hope that people will find this information useful to build their own copy of our design or improve upon our design.
