What is it about?

I had written extensively about a damage provoked initiation of adaptive immunity before the "danger hypothesis" appeared in print. My submissions were repeatedly rejected until "Morphostasis and Immunity" was published by Medical Hypotheses (1995). This is my take on the defence of self/nonself views by those who saw little value in Polly Matzinger's "Danger" views.

Perspectives

Eventyally, this series of articles leads to a Copernican style revolution in immune function. Rather than being a lympho-centric immune "universe" it leads to an inflammo-centric perspective where innate mechanisms are at the hub of the system.
