What is it about?

We tested whether children with apraxia of speech have poor speech perception and found that only those who had co-occurring language impairment had poor speech perception.

Why is it important?

Poor speech perception has been implicated in childhood apraxia of speech but this preliminary study shows that poor speech perception may be more related to co-morbid language impairment in children with apraxia of speech, then of apraxia of speech.
