What is it about?
The Scale for the Assessment of Strategies on Writing (Mastrothanasis, Roussos, & Koulianou, 2018) was developed and administered to fifth- and sixth-grade public school students in Greece. Informed by the theoretical framework of Chamot & O’Malley (1990), items were generated based on writing production strategies reported in the literature; questionnaire research; and existing instruments. The items were reviewed by experts and pilot tested with members of the target population. EFA yielded and CFA verified a model with four internally consistent and stable factors.
