What is it about?

College students who are motivated to learn are more likely to succeed. This chapter discusses one solution for motivating college students to help them succeed: self-regulated learning interventions. Self-regulated learning interventions teach students how to take control of their learning. This chapter presents an overall understanding of self-regulated learning as related to college students' motivation as well as discussing these interventions and suggesting ways to improve college students' self-regulated learning in the classroom.

Why is it important?

Self-regulated learning interventions beyond "Learning to Learn" courses are covered in a scholarly fashion, providing one of the most comprehensive discussions of self-regulated learning interventions available.
