What is it about?
Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation is a key secondary prevention program following acute cardiac and pulmonary events. Unfortunately, attendance remains suboptimal. This study explored psychological factors related to attendance utilizing mobile ecological momentary assessment methodology. Results suggest that increased experiential avoidance and negative mood are negatively related to next-week program attendance.

Findings suggest there are psychological mechanisms/processes that could be targeted through psychosocial intervention. Such interventions may have the potential to positively impact program attendance.
