What is it about?

This study suggests that asking more complex questions is related to higher levels of creativity. By using a creative question asking task we show that people who ask higher level, more complex questions are also more creative. We also show that people who ask a lot of low level questions are less creative.

Why is it important?

Our findings uniquely highlight the role of question asking, and especially question complexity, in creativity. They also pave the way for better understanding how the questions the we ask can impact the way we solve problems creatively.

Perspectives
