What is it about?

The techno-optimism of the 1990s and early 2000s has been replaced by a widespread fear about the role of technology in our daily lives. Technology’s shadow, from surveillance to disinformation, is becoming more conscious in the collective. How did we get here? This article articulates some psychodynamics of technological development, from writing through the Internet to understand technology’s shadow and our technological unconscious.
