Why is it important?

Tourism destinations are under constant threat of crises such as political and natural crises. Occurrence of critical events at tourism destinations leads to travel cancellations and demand drops. This impact is especially devastating for regions heavily dependent on tourism.

Perspectives

We assume that tourism demand is very volatile but this article shows that there is a segment of tourists who will not change their travel plans even in times of crises.
