Why is it important?

This hypothesis describes a unique pathophysiology of Menière's disease. It explains the attacks of simulatenous cochlear and vestibular symptoms, development of endolymphatic hydrops as well as the close connection of Menière's disease and Migraine.

Perspectives

If proven correct, it will soon enable new ways of therapy for this debilitating disease of the inner ear, which seems very important, since there is sofar no evidence based therapy beside destructive methods.
