What is it about?

The paper is devoted to syntheses and structures of two novel thiourea derivatives, where quasi-aromatic pseudo-rings can be found. These rings can interact with each other or with phenyl rings contributing in stabilization of crystals. Structures were determined with X-ray diffraction on monocrystals.

Why is it important?

Our results are additional confirmation that quasi-aromatic rings are readily formed within 1-benzoylthioureas and that such rings play important role in intermolecular interactions.
